Frequently asked questions
How do I play?
Tap a card to flip it, then tap a second. If the two match, they stay face up with a gold frame. If not, both flip back, so remember where they were. Clear the board in as few moves as you can.
How do I make a deck from my own photos?
On Home, tap New deck, then Add from Photos and pick 6 to 15 photos. Faces, pets and places all work. Each photo becomes a pair. You can add a short caption to any photo, and it pops up when that pair is found.
Does Pairly upload my photos?
No. Photos you pick are resized and saved inside the app on your device. They are never uploaded, and we never see them. Pairly uses the iOS photo picker, so it only gets the photos you choose and never asks for access to your whole library.
Can two people play?
Yes. Choose Two players in the setup sheet and pass the phone. Find a pair and you go again; miss and it is the other player's turn.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login. Everything works offline.
What is free and what does Pro add?
Free: four built-in collections, one photo deck with up to 8 photos, Easy, Medium and Hard boards, two players, captions and peek. Pro adds every collection, unlimited photo decks with up to 15 photos each, the Expert 5 x 6 board, extra card backs and the holo foil frame.
I bought Pro but it is still locked
Open Settings in Pairly and tap Restore purchases while signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy. If it still does not unlock, email us with the date of the purchase (the email on your Apple receipt helps).
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Pairly. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Apple also explains this at support.apple.com/118428.
How does the free trial work?
The yearly plan starts with a 1-week free trial for eligible new subscribers. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the yearly subscription starts and is charged to your Apple Account.
Can I get a refund?
Purchases are billed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Will my photo decks move to a new phone?
Decks live inside the app on your device. They are not synced between devices. They come along if you restore your new iPhone from an iCloud or computer backup of the old one.
How do I delete a deck or all my data?
Tap a deck on Home and choose Delete in the setup sheet. Deleting the app removes all decks, photos, scores and settings from your device.
Some photos would not import
If a photo is stored only in iCloud, make sure you are online so iOS can download it, then try again. If a photo still cannot be read, try a different photo or save it as JPEG or PNG first. Screenshots and regular camera photos work best.
